Seating and disabled access is available at all our gardening venues with a complimentary light lunch provided at the on site cafes and indoor shelter if  the weather isn't great.

12:30 Tuesdays  at Lyle Gateway, 31 Union Street, Greenock
12:30 Thursdays at Craigend Resource Centre, Macleod Street, Greenock

These sessions are held in the community garden space at Lyle Gateway and Craigend Resource Centre and are facilitated by our Life Skills Development Worker Carolyn, volunteers Jane and Donna, and Alice Paul from Inverclyde Community Food Network. We also have occasional learning visits to other community gardens in the network around Inverclyde.

The sessions are tailored to suit all skill levels and most of the planting is in raised beds which afford easy access regardless of mobility. Special workshops are provided by the Inverclyde Community Food Network on meal preparation, making jam, pesto as well as herb tea bags - all with produce we grow in the gardens.

We can often feel isolated due to life changes or circumstances and feel the negative effects of that on our physical health and mental wellbeing. We believe that coming together and connecting with others is a pretty powerful antidote to this. Whether you just want to enjoy a chat over coffee or have a new pastime to enjoy - it starts with social connection.

Simply come along to either of the weekly sessions advertised to find out more or contact carolyn@kidronproject.org for more information.

Coach Carolyn Airth

"I got into it to meet people and since I didn’t know much about gardening. I’ve loved learning new things and helping out. It’s really relaxing and therapeutic for me. I have a great sleep at night now."
